John Debois

Director of U.S. Software Development

As Director of U.S. Software Development, John DeBois oversees the design, development, and implementation of the Rational Review line of eDiscovery products. John focuses on building applications that can be used intuitively by all skill levels and with advanced technical features that scale to the demands of today’s big data.

John began his career as a Software Engineer in the Aerospace industry, working for Northrop Grumman and Sikorsky Aircraft. He joined Rational in 2009. John graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Computer Science.

Melissa Faas

Director of Human Resources and Treasurer

As HR Director, Melissa Faas is responsible for compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, regulatory compliance and policy and procedure development.  As Treasurer, she oversees management of financial affairs. Melissa started her career at Rational as Controller in 2008.

Prior to joining Rational Enterprise, Melissa worked at Crown Castle USA as the Project Manager on their New York State Contract. She graduated from Siena College with a degree in Finance. She also received her Master’s in Public Administration from Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy.

Costa Kypre

Chief Revenue Officer

Costa leads sales and marketing across Rational Enterprise and oversees operations within EMEA. Costa has over 18 years of experience in the legal technology sector advising corporations and law firms on the management of data and the use of technology. Costa has experience providing and implementing information governance solutions to corporations. Costa also has an expert knowledge of the latest eDiscovery technologies and tactics that can be utilized on matters such as competition, regulatory, litigation, and investigations. and can tailor an approach for clients depending on the specifics and requirements of a given matter.

Costa has worked in senior operational and project management roles and has extensive consultancy and board-level business development experience. Costa has consulted on a number of internal audits, investigations, and has considerable expertise working on cross-border litigation exercises and regulatory matters such as second requests, FCA, OFT, SEC, DOJ, and European Commission investigations, including races for leniency.

Costa works closely with in-house counsel at multi-national corporations including banks, financial institutions, pharmaceuticals, and construction companies. Costa also provides consultancy and advice to global law firms.

Simone Lesforis

Director, EMEA

Simone Lesforis is a Director at Rational Enterprise and is responsible for business development and account management for both global corporations and law firms.

Simone has over ten years’ experience consulting in eDiscovery matters such as litigations, competition cases, and internal/regulatory investigations. Simone works in a business development capacity, alongside a team of experts, to assist clients in managing their data and responding to litigation and regulatory matters in a cost effective and timely manner. Simone helps corporations implement effective information governance solutions to manage their information and provides eDiscovery solutions to both law firms and corporations dealing and responding to litigations, regulatory and internal matters.

Simone ensures clients promptly receive tailored and well thought out solutions and strategies, to help them respond to matters in the best possible fashion by utilizing best-in-breed technologies and leveraging Rational’s extensive consultancy expertise, whilst ensuring any costs are proportionate and competitive.

Konstantin Mertsalov, Phd

Software Research and Development Consultant

Dr. Konstantin Mertsalov brings extensive experience in search, social network, and document classification technologies.  Konstantin has previously worked at a leading e-Discovery firm and developed a scalable search system used to search hundreds of millions of documents with a rich set of metadata.  His current focus is on the development of the document classification system based on Support Vector Machines, social network analysis tools, as well as algorithms for corpus structure analysis (e.g., near duplicate detection and email thread analysis).

In 2009, Konstantin received a Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  His thesis work involved the study of large dynamic social networks. Konstantin’s other academic interests include machine learning, information diffusion in social networks, and semantic web search.  He has co-authored numerous publications on social networks analysis, search, and machine learning, which have appeared at international conferences and journals.

Todd Montano

Chief Technology Officer

Todd Montano serves as Chief Technology Officer for Rational Enterprise. Todd’s visionary technology strategy provides innovative and reliable solutions for clients and business. Todd oversees all technology divisions at Rational, including software development and design, data science, and information governance.

Todd graduated from SUNY Albany with a major in Information Science and minor in Business Administration.

Tom Preece

Director of Information Governance Solutions

Tom Preece leads the team responsible for supporting implementations of Rational Governance, and works directly with clients, partners, internal Product Development, and Marketing to improve, sell, and deliver our information governance solutions. He converses daily with executive- and director-level practitioners in Legal, Compliance, InfoSec, Privacy, and KM departments to better understand their problems and relate the multi-layered value that in-place supervised machine learning technology can provide.

Prior to contract execution, organizations must coordinate complex requirements across product functionality, security, compliance, personnel, process, and more to understand what is covered by any one solution and where each solution falls short. Tom provides a nexus of knowledge across all of these areas, acting to empower prospects along the buying journey, design custom pilot solutions to provide data-backed project plans, and educate our salespeople on the depth and breadth of our technology and service portfolio. Tom has had the privilege of working with some of the most highly regulated companies and government organizations in the world, requiring him to travel across 3 continents and consistently provide support across our global sales team.

Tom also writes thought-leading content, having been published by the Association of Certified eDiscovery Experts; Junto, the cybersecurity exchange published by internationally recognized firm Net Diligence; and other privacy blogs and newsletters. Before working at Rational Enterprise, Tom held a senior sales role at SiteLogic, a boutique Manhattan-based eDiscovery and Digital Forensics firm; prior to that, Tom worked under the Director of Communications at Boies, Schiller & Flexner, LLP.
